<i>Many Bloggers don't pay attention to their layout. Almost every new blogger just creates a blog and selects a default template or get some template from other free or paid template providing websites. But the most important thing that they do not pay attention to is : <b>Layout. </b>Some who pay attention to the layout select or design the layout that they like. But what about the visitors? After all every blogger make content for its visitors. So, how to understand which layout visitors prefer more? Here are few tips that may help you to select your layout:</i><br />

What should be the size?</h3>

Nearly 70% of internet users have big screen of resolution of either 1024x768(most), 1280x800, or 1280x1024. So, you could select a layout that looks good in big screen with high resolutions but do not forget the rest 30% visitors with small screen and low resolutions. Because every visitor is important. So select a layout that does not have horizontal scroll. Visitors hate to scroll horizontally.<br />

Which alignment to choose?</h3>

As you have seen that most users use big screen. So, in my opinion you should use center aligned layout. Not only it looks great in big screens but also makes your layout more adjustable.<br />

How much columns to choose?</h3>

Choose either a 2 or 3 columns layout. And it would be better if you keep the sidebars on the right because visitors look for menu items and other action items Make sure that your post content is not thinner than the sidebar(s).<br />

Outline Blocks or not?</h3>

Test shows that outlining your blocks (For Example: Social bookmarks, forms, blogrolls, categories, etc) is better.<br />

<b>Here Are some basic but still important guidelines that you should follow while designing your blog and adding content to it :</b><br />

<li>Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link. (Clean and Simple Design)</li>

<li>Offer a <a href="http://pretoproblogger.blogspot.com/2013/08/what-are-sitemaps-why-and-how-to-submit.html" target="_blank">sitemap</a> to your users with links that point to the important parts of your site. If the site map has an extremely large number of links, you may want to break the site map into multiple pages. (If You can't afford to make a page for sitemap make sure that your homepage has links to all the important pages)</li>

<li>Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number. (Search Engines like <a href="http://google.com/">google</a> don't like pages with more than 100 links)</li>

<li>Create a useful, information-rich site, and write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content. (Stick to your niche) </li>

<li>Think about the words users would type to find your pages, and make sure that your site actually includes those words within it. (Well I don't know what it is called I call it keywording. If You know what it is called please let me know too..)</li>

<li>Try to use text instead of images to display important names, content, or links. The Google crawler doesn't recognize text contained in images. If you must use images for textual content, consider using the "ALT" attribute to include a few words of descriptive text. (Write for the humans but also make sure that your content is readable to the search engine robots/crawlers)</li>
</ul>

<li>Make sure that your <title> elements and ALT attributes are descriptive and accurate. (The thing that influences your ranking the most is <title> Choose Your Title For the page accurately)</li>
</ul>

<li>Check for broken links and correct HTML. (There are plenty of services on the web that will do it for you but if you can squeeze some cash out of your pocket.)</li>

<li>If you decide to use dynamic pages (i.e., the URL contains a "?" character), be aware that not every search engine spider crawls dynamic pages as well as static pages. It helps to keep the parameters short and the number of them few.( Remember making your Blog extra dynamic can decrease your ranking for except your content is exceptionally good).</li>

Everything we write in the blog is obviously for its visitors and if the blog is not visitor friendly no one would like to come again. They will come only when your content is exceptionally great. But if it’s not anyone would prefer to haunt again… To understand what features constitute a visitor friendly blog I visited some popular blogs and I concluded following features to be considered as visitor friendly: </i></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; line-height: 20.796875px;"><i><br /></i><b>1.)</b> <b>Font Characteristics</b>: Fonts should be large enough so that the visitors may not have to squint to read the content. Font colors of normal and links should be different from that of the background to provide proper contrast with the background.<br /><br /><b>2.)</b> <b>Page Style</b>: Very much garishly pages are a put off; many may not like to read too much varied colorful texts. Avoid such texts. I am not saying that using colorful texts are bad. Colors can be used to depict the mood of the blogger. But it must be done carefully. If the bloggers mood is a happy one, using a gloomy grey text would make it difficult to connect with the reader.<br /><br /><b>3.) Page content:</b> Extraneous content can be blighting. A blog with a two line post and a hundred comments will not only take time to load but will also make the readers upset as they come to your blog to read what you write not what your readers comment . Reading he content will depend upon the reader’s patience. Many will even leave before waiting for the page to load. Also comment moderation is an important aspect. SPAM comments must be weeded out or else it would leave a bad impression on the reader. Using ad in posts is a conspicuous thing. While having many posts per page will make it slow to load again making the readers to read before reading the content.<br /><br /><b>4.) Page layout:</b> The reading experience should not be marred by the layout. Inserting ads in the middle of the posts is rather a bad idea. Have links to important pages at the bottom of the post is a good idea as not having them at all.<br /><br /><b>5.) Visitor Aids:</b> Visitors should have easy access to links for sharing the posts. They should also be provided with links to subscribe to blog feeds so that they remain updated about the changes to your blog. Visitors also like to voice their opinion or feedback. So, a comment box should be provided. They should not be made to wade through all the posts in search of a specific category post. So a search box along with a categorized post app must be provided. Easy access to previous posts or preferably an archive or calendar showing the post or the dates of the posts will not only save the effort of the reader but will also keep them engaged more on your blog. Again this can also be done by providing links of related posts at the end of the posts.<br /><br /><b>6.) Optionals:</b> A blog is known by its links. Proper links, whether of sources or extra information providing links must be given this will not only help the reader of your blog to find the information they want but will also improve your page ranking. Adequate apps must be in your blog. If you are adding apps/widgets in your blog always try to add the ones provided by the platform. Using external widgets in your blog can make your blog load slower. So to make your blog load faster use apps/widgets provided by the platforms.<br /><br /><br /></span></span><br />
